Terms of Service

By using ShrinkVideos — the website, the compression tools, or an account — you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

ShrinkVideos provides online tools to compress videos, convert clips to GIF, and grab still frames. Most processing happens in your browser; some larger files are processed on our server, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You may use the service for personal and commercial projects. The free compressor needs no account.

• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep your email address current.
• Keep your password private — you're responsible for activity on your account.
• Accounts are for one person and may not be shared or resold.
• Tell us straight away at contact.shrinkvideos@gmail.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

You agree not to:

• process content you don't own or don't have the right to use,
• upload anything illegal, including content that exploits minors, infringes copyright, or violates someone's privacy,
• upload malware or files designed to harm our systems or other users,
• overload the service with automated requests, scrape it, or try to get around plan limits, credits, or rate limits,
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you aren't authorised to access.

Each plan comes with a maximum file size and a monthly number of compression credits, listed on the Pricing page. While you're signed in, one credit is used for each successful compression — failed attempts don't use a credit. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and unused credits don't roll over.

We may change free-tier limits in the future. Changes to a paid plan's limits take effect from your next billing period, not partway through one you've paid for.

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which also handles taxes and invoices. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

You can cancel at any time from your account page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan automatically. We don't offer partial refunds for unused time. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll look into it.

You keep all rights to the videos you process. For files handled on our server, you give us a limited permission to store and process them only for as long as needed to compress them and return the result to you — after which they are deleted automatically. We don't use your content for any other purpose.

We aim to keep ShrinkVideos available and reliable, but we may need to pause it for maintenance, and we may add, change, or remove features over time. Server-side processing can be temporarily unavailable during high load; in-browser compression doesn't depend on our server.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee a particular file size or visual quality, or that every format and codec will process successfully. Keep your original files — we recommend never deleting a source video until you've checked the compressed version.

To the extent permitted by law, ShrinkVideos is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data or content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be excluded.

You can stop using ShrinkVideos and delete your account at any time from your account page; any active subscription is cancelled as part of that. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why first.

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we'll notify account holders by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
